Nancy Beller-Simms Participates In Water Research and Innovation Solutions Workshop

On May 4th, CPO’s Nancy Beller-Simms participated in a Water Research Foundation workshop on future water research and innovation solutions, as one of 100 invited water experts. The Water Research Foundation, the leading research organization advancing the science of all water to meet the evolving needs of water utilities, asked water experts to participate in a project to gain advanced insight into water sector challenges and related solutions. The project is focusing on "disruptors" facing the water sector now and over the next 10-20 years and will discuss equity, environmental justice, and climate among many other topics. It expands on the CPO Climate and Societal Interaction Division’s work with water utilities over the past 15 years.

About Us

NIHHIS is an integrated information system that builds understanding of the problem of extreme heat, defines demand for climate services that enhance societal resilience, develops science-based products and services from a sustained climate science research program, and improves capacity, communication, and societal understanding of the problem in order to reduce morbidity and mortality due to extreme heat.  NIHHIS is a jointly developed system by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
